LPPO Endorses I-1098
Washington State has one of the most regressive tax systems in the United States, a system that increasingly shifts payment for state services onto low and middle income families. I-1098 will help make Washington’s tax structure more progressive while helping to ensure funding for vital social services. I-1098 would provide dedicated funding for education and health care by creating an income tax for couples who earn over $400,000 a year ($200,000 for individuals)-those with incomes in the top 3% of our state. It would reduce owner occupied property tax by 20% and repeal the B&O tax for small business. Join with LPPO and our partners who support I-1098 by collecting signatures around Washington.

Interfaith Advocacy Day
On February 16th, over 200 advocates from around Washington gathered at the State Capitol in Olympia for Interfaith Advocacy Day 2010. The day was a great success as people of faith worshiped together, heard from experts about the policy and budget issues, were addressed by Gov. Chris Gregoire, and met with their elected representatives.

The Lutheran Public Policy Office (LPPO) of Washington State is one of the 18 State Public Policy Offices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
